Operation MILF, Weeks 4-5: Don’t Give Up on You

Yeah…soooo…traveling kinda boned my Week 4 update and here we are at the end of Week 5! Just gonna lump ’em together because, yeah.

I’m very close to my “happy” weight so I’m fine with not getting there or below super duper fast, I suppose. I like to enjoy events and food and booze and not worry or feel guilty, however I’m also very aware of what I’m doing. Knowing is half the battle. If you recognize when you’re setting yourself back, you also recognize when you have to reel it in.

Being stuck at a 4 lb total loss for the last few weeks is kinda frustrating, but I guess averaged out it isn’t horrible and I’m still in better shape than when I started. Regular workouts and maintaining is better than sitting on my butt and gaining. Okay, this is just me rationalizing my 3-week stand still, but really, in my experience I’m either losing or gaining- rarely do I just stay where I’m at. It wouldn’t be so bad if I wasn’t actively trying to lose…lol. But I’ll push onward, work toward losing a few more pounds and toning a few things up regardless of what the scale says- even if the number doesn’t go down I’m still making progress. The way my clothes fit, my energy level, the weight I move, and how visible my thigh cellulite is are all good things to pay attention to and feel good about.
There are a lot of daily summaries below since this is for 2 whole weeks, so it might be kinda boring. But like I’ve said before, keeping track for me, so feel free to skip it. 🙂
Weeks 4-5 Summary: 4.2 lb total loss since the start of Week 1; 4-5 day hiatus over the last 2 weeks, but still got a decent # of workouts in & recovered pretty well.  Roach621 on myfitnesspal if you wanna friend me.

Sunday 8/9– weighed in the same as yesterday…eh, better than a gain. Alllllmost didn’t work out, but did. Insanity: Pure Cardio, 25 min. Alllllmost went to Wendy’s for a Spicy Chicken Sandwich because why would I not want a Spicy Chicken Sandwich?, but didn’t. Allllmost went to Sonic for a malt, but didn’t – hellooooo 770 calories for a MINI!! Wtf is that about? So instead I made this sad lil bowl at home:  I dug out some old vanilla ice cream from the back of the freezer, and packed those freezer burnt crystals into a 1/4 cup measuring cup. And then measured and microwaved 1/2 tbsp of hot fudge. Mmmmm. Better than nothing, and only 108 cal. Another light dessert idea: 1:4 cup light whipped cream, dessert shell (80 cal), and some strawberries.

Went easy on the booze this weekend for the most part, and kept on track for calories today so I bet this week results in a net loss. We shall see!

Monday 8/10– weighed in at a 4-lb total loss since the start…sounds familiar. And I’m happy with it. Hopefully it means by the end of the week I’ll see some more progress since I won’t have a weekend to mess me up til the very end of the week. Jogged 25 min on the treadmill at 5.0 mph and walked 5 min at 3.5 mph, then did leg day (squats, leg extensions, lunges, deadlifts). Stayed under my calories, so all-in-all a good day from a diet standpoint.

Tuesday 8/11– Weighed in the same as yesterday. Insanity: Cardio Power & Resistance, 25 min.  Had Bunco tonight so I was over my calories by the dessert. Oh well. Didn’t win sh!t, as usual, so at least I got cake. 😉 I’ll probably weigh in high tomorrow but that’s ok. I’m in a pair of Skinny-Chelle shorts, so eff it. I’ll be a good little girl tomorrow.

Wednesday 8/12– 1/2 lb up from yesterday. Insanity: Pure Cardio, 25 min. Under calories.

Thursday 8/13– back down a 1/2 lb… Insanity: Plyo, 30 min.  Food and drink status: It’s complicated.  I was actually really low on food calories but not in a good way. I counted breakfast and lunch then had a business/social event right down the hallway at the office, and there was (DUN-DUN-DUNNNNN) wine. So I had a lotta that and a lil bit o’ cheese and some grapes…and 4 Ibuprofens in the morning!

Friday 8/14– being severely dehydrated and skipping last night’s dinner I weighed in almost 3 lbs lower than yesterday. Thanks, Wine Cleanse! Didn’t put it in MFP because, let’s face it, it’s fiction. And having to gingerly eat a slice of bread and sip water while having the sweats this morning wasn’t worth the loss, albeit unintentional. Wine helps me drink. I plead the fifth. We hit the road for Nebraska this evening and had pizza so my calorie count can’t be good, but it’s Friday and we were traveling and I deserved something for getting to my 9:00 appointment with a hangover and surviving a 5 hr road trip with a 9-mo old.
Saturday 8/15– 10,000 steps during a trip to the zoo. Knew I was gonna overeat a bit for dinner/dessert so I had a salad at lunch. I’ll pat myself on the back and say that’s a success…suuuure…

Sunday 8/16– no workout unless sitting on my @$$ for a 5-hr road trip counts.  Cracker Barrel breakfast, frozen pizza lunch/dinner.

Monday 8/17– soooo run down and tired I didn’t workout or bother with calories. Oops. Had a delicious Mexican dinner and ate my weight in chips & salsa.  AND, I did wear workout clothes today, so maybe I worked out by osmosis…?

Tuesday 8/18– no workout. So. Tired. Was 100 cal over- could be worse.

Wednesday 8/19– trying to salvage things and get in 3-4 workouts before week’s end. Jogged a mile at 5.0 mph and walked another…easing into things… + chest/back day. Was under calories, too. Hip-hip-hooray!!

Thursday 8/20– weighed in 0.8-1.0 lb heavy. Really not bad after 5 days of fat & fun. I was expecting worse. Did 30 min on the elliptical + leg day. Omg was even under calories. Whew…d@mn today sucked. I mean, today was grrrrrrreat! I make a mean breakfast sandwich, though. Just about 250 calories – the one in this pic had avocado so a bit more calories, probably.

Friday 8/21– back to a 4.2 lb loss. Status quo. 30-min stair machine + bicep/tricep.  Ate light for breakfast and lunch, had a delicious dinner at a friend’s house and a couple drinks. I think I did pretty good if it weren’t for the Hint of Lime tortilla chips….so tasty. Chips are definitely my weakness. One of many weaknesses, I guess. 😛
